‘energy flow’ started the show. not really  much to say about the beginning, but once ‘JOINT”s intro began… the crowd became loud, and even louder after Mami came out. Mami herself seemed to be a bit over-excited. *lol*

JOINT

one of the best performance is ‘TRILL’. I’m amazed that she was able to pull out her falsetto in ‘Look for hard, truth. Look for hard, real.’ Really great.

and then, move on the the first MC in the live. Ame-onna talk again. xD~ for those who didn’t know, Mami is ame-onna or, in English, miss rain. Just like in SEED live, it was raining again. xD Mami even apologized to the crowd 😀 and then added that it wasn’t raining inside the hall, though. *lol*

Mami, thinking whether she should apologize for the rain

and then… ballads in a row, started with ‘For our days’, which wasn’t part of album.

For our days

i don’t fully understand the second MC. But this part would be funny. the rough translation of this part would be “For our days isn’t part of the album so some of you might not know it. Saigo no Yakusoku, however, is part of album so everyone must have 100% known it. If you didn’t know, it would be 100% WEIRD.” *lol*

“HYAKKU PAASENTO JYANAKUTTE OKASHII !!”

There was also a promise from Mami. She mentioned that she was learning guitar, and promised (or rather hoped :P) that in the next album and the next live, she would be able to play guitar already. Ganbatte ne~ 😀

EDIT note: she actually promised that there will be next live… and hopefully next album as well.

and after the MC, the last ballad in the row. ‘Akai Namida’. I love Mami’s voice in the last part “Shinjirarenai kara”. It was really great. xD

Akai Namida

let’s once again go upbeat. ‘Hisui’ was… actually good, but nothing really special here. ‘sense’ was much better and Mami pumped up the crowd once again.

sense

and the MC… i lol’ed here. it was really hillarious. xD Mami told us about the time when she went to karaoke. Because she was busy, she ended up knowing nothing of the other songs than her own songs and the other I’ve Divas’ song. xD So.. she chose ‘JOINT’ (it was ‘Hishoku no Sora’ before’) and started fully confident, thinking “it wouldn’t be so weird if i were on the #1. I am KAWADA MAMI after all.” and then, the result came. She saw the result and pretty much of shocked, because she wasn’t #1. xD She said that she was like “Weird… Weird… I’m Kawada Mami… Kawada Mami.” I’m not sure what was her rank, but it was probably around #190. xD

Mami being asked about the possibility of her singing ‘kyun, kyun’ (cute, denpa style) for karaoke

and then let’s continue. the performance of ‘triangle’ wasn’t really special, in contrast to ‘intron tone’. Mami’s performance in ‘intron tone’ would be next best performance after ‘TRILL’. she showed both her strong and cute voice. xD plus, she pumped up the crowd again !! x3 the last part of this ‘almost-medley’ performance was ‘Hishoku no Sora’. Honestly, Mami seemed to be a bit tired here. you could notice that in the part “itsu datte mune no”, her voice was a bit shaking.

intron tone

and then, the last song for the main show, ‘portamento’.

portamento

and then, jumped to ENCORE !!! Or should be Kawada-core. *lol* Mami was cute and seemed to be bothered by her skirt-length. too short ?? *lol*

“chirachirachirachira…”

I didn’t understand the MCs in encore, so i’ll just skip it. 😛 *bricked*

“Who knows my original debut ??”

but the first MC in the encore was… about her original debut, ‘Kaze to kimi wo daite’ and then she sang it.

I love how she sang it with her current voice (you can listened to the short version in Budokan 2009, in ‘L’Oiseau bleu’ single). The current arrangement has also slightly improved. It has more guitar sound in it, and i really love it. 😀

The next will be the best part of the show. ‘Get my way!’. before singing, she prompted the audience to sing together in the part “AHH~~”, and added that it was up to them about how they shoud sing it. xD

Pumped up crowd !!!

‘Get my way!’ was the real deal. Mami seemed to enjoy herself the most during the song and made me love the song even more than before. =3 There was introduction for the band member in the middle of the song, along with their short solo performance, too.

Kazumi Yagi (drums), Daiki Satou (bass), Furushima Tomohisa (Keyboard & Manipulator)

Shohei Gotoh (guitar), Hoshino Takeshi (guitar)

Funny fact in Shohei Gotoh introduction. His parrent seemed to attend the show, so Mami teased him abit. 😛

Mami teasing Gotoh-san xD~

‘Get my way!’ was the most brilliant and enjoyable performance in this live. everytime i watch this part, i always end up almost-jumping-while-sitting on my chair. x3

The next, ‘DREAM’. well.. you know how i feel about this song, so… 😛 it was a nice performance for a fake end, though. xD~

as the live will “END”, in the MC before ‘DREAM,’ Mami teased Gotoh-san again. xD

“Goto-kun, daijobu ??”

and… as usual… real encore. Mami thanked all of the people who’s supported her: the band, the staff, and the fans. She almost cried (maybe a very small amount of tears leaked out, but not flooding yet) when she mentioned how important and supportive her parents were, adding to the audience that they should thank their parents when they arrived home after watching the show.

“Arigatou !!”

So… the last song, ‘Aozora to Taiyou’. maybe she leaked out a bit tears here, but it wasn’t so noticeable and her perfomance was still fine until the end of the song.

The last jump

SAVIA was the best album for 2008, and SAVIA Live showed us how much Mami improved herself from the last SEED live. better outfit, better setlist and also better performance. she was very confident of her own voice in SAVIA live, resulted in a brilliant live (which probably could only be beaten by MELL’s first live, haven’t watched it Y-Y). Nice to see how Mami could enjoy her performance, while in SEED live, the only performance that she released her all was in ‘CARPE DIEM’, with that mismatch outfit. =w=

SAVIA Live really ROCKS !!!

Love the passion you put in every word of this review that, by the way, is a very good one ^^. I feel well represented in the way you did this review, though you’re far from impartial about it ^^.

As I said, this SAVIA live is a fine proof of how Mami has improved her skills as a singer and entertainer. Hope she can do better in the future.

  2. June 24, 2009 at 11:54 AM

    thanks xD

i didn’t realize that when i was writing it, you know. I just realized it after reading it. xD It’s embarrasingly not impartial xD~ *bricked*

and this has become more like a diary rather than a review 😛

a rather late comment I’m going to make. *BRICKED*

Oh I really want to buy this DVD. T-T But it seems like she really enjoyed her SAVIA live tour more than her SEED. I haven’t watched both but as I can see it, it looks like the tracklist for the SAVIA live was much more into her type. xD

buy it, fred… you won’t regret that decision… i mean it, really. xD~

it seems that Mami herself likes rock music, so no wonder she could enjoy her own performance in rock style. 😀

  5. July 2, 2009 at 6:51 PM

yes yes I can see that. I would really be happy if I could buy when I already have my work. Although it’ll cost me more or less PhP3,000.00 – PhP4,000.00 (if I were to convert the expenses including the shipping).

And yes I could see that she enjoys rock music but I wonder why she joined I’ve knowing she enjoys more rock music rather than electronica. XD

  6. July 4, 2009 at 8:09 PM

who knows, fred. 😛 as long as she can sing, maybe ?? xD~ *bricked*

Yuki isn’t a hardcore fan… the true is that she’s a Ultra-Hyper-Harcore fan of Mami, for example @o@.

And that’s so true that she SPENT money behind her mother eyes to get the SAVIA dvd >o<…

shame on you lady! shame of you! ^____^

  10. July 13, 2009 at 9:48 AM

    @pedro: you’re over-exaggerating -_-;;

    the truth was my mom had already known that i bought this DVD when it arrived -_-;;

C’mon Yuki, it’s in the good sense of word and you know, I’m also a hardcore fan of KOTOKO, MELL and m.o.v.e, so, I’m in the same road ^^.

  12. July 13, 2009 at 7:47 PM

xB~ *just don’t wanna admit it*

  13. October 16, 2009 at 5:31 AM

you better admit it yuki, it’s Ok…there are others way more hard-core than you… for me Live Tour 2004 and Live in Yokohama arena are simply gold! i so regret that i can’t get into Mutant Dwarf too.

  14. October 16, 2009 at 7:28 PM

Maiku, go to Japan, gather your money and get into Mutant Dwarf 😛

  15. October 16, 2009 at 10:27 PM

yeah…, ive been so close…really..i’ve been someware in china less than 1000 Km away from Japan…, and around your counry some 4 or 5 times, never on land, but there is still time. about Mutant Dwarf, i meant m.a.l.l….for you. And yeah…, if i would have the chance i would move to Japan tomorow, and Mutant Dwarf would be the only reason for that. Now, i hate that i can’t be at Shibuya AX, on Octomber 17, when Kotoko will have a live show. Cheers!

I’m going to have to be perfectly honest here (despite knowing that Yuki is going to be all over me when I say this) and say that I wasn’t quite as impressed with Mami’s live performance. There were a few songs where I thought she did pretty well (unfortunately, these songs turned out to be the less memorable ones such as DREAM). Yes, I went there, I said that she performed one of the worst songs (IMHO) on the album well.

Unfortunately, it seems as though Mami suffers from inconsistent pitch. Although for some performances, she was exceptional and was able to hit and sustain notes just fine, others she was off by a substantial margin.

I guess I might be setting my standards too high since most of the artists I listen to nowadays put on brilliant live shows, but Mami falls just a bit short for me in this case.

I definitely have to give her the E for effort though because I still think she did reasonably well.

    Let the flaming commence!

  17. October 29, 2009 at 5:16 PM

*lol* well, honestly that’s where Mami lacks. As you’ve said, her pitch is quite inconsistent. Even now.

And if I did this review impartially, this kind of review wouldn’t have been here 😛

However, I like how she could actually enjoy her time on the stage, especially on Get my way! 😛 *bricked*
